Description Marc Auslander 2009-12-23 06:37:55 UTC
I have seen this for a while - the first time you press pause it doesn't do anything. 29670 is described as fixing this, but it does not. Now, the first time you press pause after the screensaver engages, pause is really delivered twice - you see the SB3 cycle through pause and resume playing. Subsequent presses work correctly unless you navigate to a new screen and let the screensaver engage again. Then it again fails the first time.
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2010-02-07 23:53:57 UTC
what bug is that change 29670 refering to?
Comment 2 Adrian Smith 2010-02-08 11:06:12 UTC
29670 was intended to resolve pause during screensaver issues which were created as a byproduct of 29543.

Its working for me - what cases does it not work for you - which screensavers and what case? Do you have a custom map file?
Comment 3 Marc Auslander 2010-02-08 12:36:08 UTC
It appears now to be related to Music Info SCR. If I set the screensaver to now playing, the problem goes away. My feeble memory claims this was not always the case - but experimental error may be involved :-)

In any case, with Music Info SCR set as my screensaver, on my SB3:

1. Start an MP3 track playing.
2. Use left arrow to get to the main menu.
3. Wait for screensaver to engage.
4. Press pause. Pause flashes in the upper left of screen, but play continues.
5. After this, pause works correctly until you leave and return to the screen saver.

I got the mp3 playing by navigating in Music Folder.
After the screensaver engages, if I use left arrow to get out, pause works.
No custom map.
Music Info SCR settings:

AVD - on
Display playlist - on
Disable vis - off
Jump back - off
Two line display (used in this experiment)
    Playtime Progress Playtime Remaining
    Title
Don't show icons twice
Alarm screen - default
Customize Playlist Display - use screensaver settings
Powered off - use sc fonts

Please contact the author of that 3rd party extension.

Oh wait...
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2010-02-10 07:55:22 UTC
Can't reproduce this here. Do you see the same issue if you enable the "jump back..." option?
Comment 6 Marc Auslander 2010-02-10 09:10:25 UTC
If jump back is on it does not fail.

Any tracing I can turn on to help?

Comment 8 Marc Auslander 2010-03-02 07:38:40 UTC
continues to be a problem. running my SB3 in large (one line) mode, my choices are pause broken (MusicInfoSCR) or no elapsed time display. I never pressed getting the Large Mode display "fixed" in the base since MusicInfoSRC solved the problem. But now its broken.

I has assumed/hoped from Michael's comment in the dup entry that the problem was understood and would be solved.

Any hope?

This is not a SBS bug, but only in my plugin. And yes, I plan to fix it.
But we have some deadlines to hit...

I understand - thanks for the update and I'll be patient. And remember, complaints mean you have users dependent on this wonderful system.
Comment 11 Michael Herger 2010-03-03 03:18:39 UTC
You should see MusicInfoSCR v4.4.7 being pushed out any moment. Thanks for the report!
Comment 12 Marc Auslander 2010-03-04 05:58:22 UTC
I'm not seeing 4.4.7 - I've waited a day in the spirit of patience.

I don't know/remember the URL of the repository to check it, so i don't know if the problem is at my end.
Comment 13 Marc Auslander 2010-03-04 06:21:15 UTC
I do see the new version on Michael's web site - but I hesitate to install it "by hand". It's not listed in Michael's repo.xml - presumably because its distributed by squeezebox.
Comment 14 Marc Auslander 2010-03-04 06:52:34 UTC
Some code reading found the url:
http://mysqueezebox.com/public/plugins/repository.xml
which still list 4.4.6
Comment 15 Michael Herger 2010-03-04 06:55:58 UTC
Yeah, sorry, forgot to bump the repository. Done now.
Comment 16 Marc Auslander 2010-03-04 08:39:54 UTC
Thanks - fixed for me.
