Bugzilla – Bug 15308
Shuffle on SB Controller does not work with Rhapsody Playlists
Last modified: 2011-04-08 05:01:10 UTC
Ticket 091031-002681 SB Controller SB Server 7.4.1 & 7.5 MAC and Windows Rhapsody Problem: Connected to Squeezebox Server, and the Squeezebox Controller is set to shuffle songs, when you play a playlist created in Rhapsody, it does not shuffle. If you go to Squeezebox Server and click Shuffle, the playlist does shuffle the Rhapsody playlist. I was able to recreate this here. I tested this on MAC and Windows with both 7.4.1 and 7.5. Per the customer, this started when he updated to SB Server 7.4.1. **From the customer** If I go onto my computer and play a rhapsody playlist through the squeezebox server I can play the same playlists randomly, but this does not work if you start the playlists from the remote control. ***** Thanks, LaRon
Ben I'm assigning this to you since it seems related to SP. As always, if it turns out to be in someone else's area of expertise please give it to them or mark it for the bug meeting. I'm not targeting for 7.4.2 even thought I probably should, due to the fact that the bug also exists in 7.4.1.
Moving lower-priority bugs to next target
I can confirm this one as well with Napster playlists. When I start the playlist from a Preset button on the Radio, it works as expected. However, when I navigate through the Napster app on the controller (since you cannot save a Napster, Mp3tunes.com, or Rhapsody playlist to a Favorite - see other bug for that issue) and play a user-created playlist, it always starts playing the first song on the playlist and does not shuffle the songs in the playlist. After starting the playlist, when you go to the main menu and turn shuffle off and then back on again, the shuffle kicks in and randomizes the playlist.
