Bugzilla – Bug 15207
SB Radio won't connect to mysqueezebox.com after factory reset
Last modified: 2009-11-30 18:34:08 UTC
after my SB Radio had problems with the Internet Radio menu (would just "spin" forever when selecting one of the categories) i did a factory reset of the device. as expected after the reset i had to enter the wireless LAN password again, SB Radio did get a network via my WLAN but then has failed for the last 30min to connect to mysqueezebox.com. i've checked the following to make sure it's not a network problem on my end: - mysqueezebox.com IS reachable from other machines on my WLAN - diagnostics on SB Radio: - firmware version: 7.4.1 r7915 - HW version: 4 - MAC address: 00:04:20:26:1a:b6 - wireless network: mine - wireless encryption: WPA2-PSK - wireless signal: 98% - ethernet: not connected - IP address: 192.168.178.60 - IP subnet: 255.255.255.0 - IP gateway: 192.168.178.1 - DNS server: 192.168.178.1 - mysqueezebox.com: 89.202.121.131 - ping: ok - TCP port 3483: ok - TCP port 9000: ok - mysqueezebox.com registration: - - squeezebox server: not connected rather annoying and rendering the SB radio into an expensive doorstop :-((
update: after some further waiting, SB radio seems to get connected now.
experiencing the exact same problem on the duet controller now. is this a mysqueezebox.com server problem? would be nice to have a status display on the mysqueezebox.com web page then...
- there are numerous reports about this on the forum too.
update: SB Radio and duet controller show up on the "my players" page on the mysqueezebox.com web page and i can control them via the remote control web page as well. UI on the SB radio and the duet controller, however, still cannot connect to mysqueezebox.com, no matter what.
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71932 has LOTS of reports on the same topic... major issue...
There was a service interruption over the weekend. Please feel to re-open if it seems to be an actual bug. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not the fact that the service was offline is the big problem but that it had such catastrophic consequences. So the whole idea of having the radio on a permanent "life-line" to mysb.com is the bug if you so will. I've opened a request for this to be changed. Not expecting much but that's the least I can do before having to return the radio because of this major issue. See: https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15218
