Bugzilla – Bug 15017
Option for IR numeric buttons to operate as per SB3
Last modified: 2009-11-02 08:38:31 UTC
Some of this is covered in thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70500 and I've separated it out from within https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14990 On the SB3 and Boom, the original IR remote allowed the number buttons to be pressed to jump to letters, i.e. pressing 5 twice took you to 'K'. Using an IR remote with a SB Radio (and presumably Touch) then this functionality has changed and is confusing (for long term IR users). This could be solved by including an option (probably in Settings/Advanced/Beta) called Numeric IR Option (1) "numerics = preset" Default Press Numeric = Jump to Preset Press and Hold Numeric = Set Preset Option (2) "numerics = navigate" Press Numeric = Navigate (context specific) Press and Hold Numeric = Jump to Preset if available. Press, Hold and Keep Holding = Set preset By moving to option 2, then IR remote users can acheive consistency between their players. The current difficulties of P,H&KH on the SB3 (see thread) would remain but could be avoided with SqueezePlay devices by either using the preset buttons (Radio) or switching to option 1 temporarily.
We are still working on fully implementing IR commands.

(In reply to comment #2) > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1018 *** don't think you meant 1018 - probably 13779 - missed that as I think of the buttons as numbers not letters (even though the use case is letters). https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13779
