Description VolkerOth 2009-10-14 10:11:49 UTC
Currently the user can only select to either control the display brightness manually or leave it completely to the light sensor to determine the appropriate level of brightness.
However, the maximum brightness is too high and the minimum brightness is too low at least in certain environment.
Therefore I'd suggest to let the user edit the minimum and maximum brightness that is used for automatic dimming. So the brightness can never be below the minimum and never above the maximum.

Additionally it would be helpful to control the brightness quickly. Maybe it would be possible to use the selection knob to change the brightness while either the knob itself or a different button is pressed. If this shouldn't be possible, there should be a quick brightness setting in the menu that pops up when pressing "+". In manual dimming mode, this could control the level directly. In automatic dimming mode, this could control a signed offset added to the automatically determined value.

Yep, CNET review had exactly the same suggestion.
