Description Kevin Pearsall 2005-04-29 13:05:02 UTC
a few customers have reported it... all i know of this issue:
- only seems to happen with sb2
- seems to happen more commonly on windows, but not always (i've seen it on osx)
- you can hit a bunch of buttons while the player UI is hung up and they all get
stored, and the player catches up and does everything you told it to.

This is happening for me on other platforms. It's a serious problem. Dan: any idea? It doesn't seem to
be related to disk spin up, could it be a db swapping issue?

Kevin: can you set up a reproduceable case for us to use to diagnose?
Comment 3 Kevin Pearsall 2005-06-13 16:50:36 UTC
This has been so hit-and-miss for me that I haven't been able to come up with
anything concrete. I'll keep at it though.

Actually...come to think of it, I saw a bit of an issue like this just a few
minutes ago when connecting to a windows machine running a 6.1 nightly from like
last wednesday... It wouldn't connect until I moved the mouse, even though it's
only set to blank the monitor (not go in to standby)
Comment 6 Kevin Pearsall 2005-06-14 09:50:47 UTC
...but it worked just fine when i tried it a couple more times :-(

Maybe switch to an OS that has a decent VM implementation? I don't know if
setting Windows process priority might prevent it from being swapped out...if
that's actually the problem.

Without more information (or time to investigate in detail) this isn't going to
make it into 6.1.

Kevin: what were the power settings on that machine?

This is likely the same as bug 1934
