Description Ritchie Argue 2009-10-03 14:35:19 UTC
I have a Controller that refuses to wake from sleep. I have three Controllers here, all freshly updated to 7.4 r7790 (including factory resets for all as part of the upgrade procedure), although the issue was present throughout 7.3.x. Only one of the Controllers is affected (and it has always been the same one), so I'm fairly certain it isn't an external issue, i.e., wireless router or squeezecenter.

To reproduce, I just let the controller fall asleep, all the way to power save mode. Once it is asleep, neither moving the controller nor pressing any of the buttons on the face will waken it. If it only dims the screen but does not go into power save mode, then it will resume fine.

Currently removing the battery and re-inserting it will reboot the controller, and it will come back up. In the past I seem to recall that this was not sufficient, and it would have to have the battery inserted with the + key held down to do a hard reset.

If I do an explicit shutdown (power key), then it starts up again fine also using the power key. It seems to be only when it falls asleep on its own that there are problems resuming.

The sticker info for this Controller is as follows:

M/N: C-RL65
P/N: 830-000019
PID: LZ828S1
MAC: 00:04:20:1A:B8:C7

Thanks for considering.

How embarrassing, apparently I was mistaken. I thought a fresh log file would be handy for troubleshooting so I deleted the old log folder from the SD card, and now there is no problem with waking from sleep? I don't understand why that would be, but now it seems fine. Sorry for the noise =)
