Description John Edwards 2009-09-24 06:20:05 UTC
I have created a playlist which contains at least one tune from Napster by adding songs with the + button on the remote and then using Extras|Save Playlist. At this point, I can clear down my playlist and reload my saved playlist and it works fine. However, if I rescan my library, the playlist no longer plays the Napster song(s). The .m3u file remains unchanged still showing the Napster songs but internally, the rescan appears to have skipped over it.

Can you please attach the scanner log

Andy: how are playlists with music service content handled?
Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2009-09-24 12:16:52 UTC
They should be unaffected after or during scan, Alan?
Comment 6 Alan Young 2009-09-24 12:44:46 UTC
I cannot think off hand any reason why this would not work. The scanner log show that it scanned the playlist but found zero entries.

However, the bug is reported against 7.3.3. This has changed completely in 7.4 with the RemoteTrack stuff and associated changes to playlist handling to cope with local playlists containing RemoteTrack entries. Can someone from QA please test the attached playlist against 7.4.

I just upgraded to 7.4 and it still doesn't work. After the rescan, if you try to play the saved playlist, it just comes back with "Nothing"
Comment 8 John Edwards 2009-09-30 13:11:31 UTC
Just upgraded to 7.4.1. Still "Nothing"
Comment 9 James Richardson 2009-10-01 08:39:18 UTC
QA confirmed, playlists that contain Napster Tracks, will remove those tracks when doing any level of scan

To reproduce
Start SBS
Clear your current playlist
Add 1 napster track
Add 1 local track
Save the playlist
Start a Clear and Rescan or Playlist Scan
Play the playlist
Notice that only the Local track is in the playlist now
