Bugzilla – Bug 1423
Still an issue with accented characters
Last modified: 2008-08-18 10:54:16 UTC
Not sure if this is tied in to to bug #1358, as that seems to be Windows- based. My experience is Linux based (CentOs 4.0, which is RedHat EH 4). There's still a problem showing accented characters in the browser. I have a filename called: 10 - This F'n Chsta.mp3 but the browser displays it as: 10 - Thi\xF3s F\xE1'n Ch\xF3sta Worked okay in 5.4.1 I think, but not in 6.0.1.
Any chance you could attach the file to this bug? Thanks.
Created attachment 455 [details] MP3 file which shows incorrectly in the browser (IE6). Slim is running on Linux. As requested.
By any chance, is the Linux machine mounting (Samba or otherwise) the drive containing audio from a Windows machine?
No, all the audio files are stored native on the server (folder /slim/music), and the browser is accessing the server via http://192.168.1.150:9000
Two questions: 1) What does your LC_CTYPE environment variable look like? 2) What version of Perl are you running (do a perl -V)?
Assuming I get to my environment variables using the export command (I had to google for it), LC_CTYPE isn't listed. My perl version is v5.8.5 My LANG environment variable is en_GB.UTF-8 (I'm in the UK)
Any idea here, Dan?
Dan thinks that this is fixed in the latest nightly. Can you confirm?
This bug was marked resolved in Slimserver 6.1, which is several versions ago. If you're still seeing this bug, please re-open it. Thanks!
