Description Maurice Alou 2009-09-16 17:02:13 UTC
Unable to add a station to Favorites. For example, select an internet radio station and press the "+" button: you can add the station to a Playlist but not the Favorites.

save to favorites item in context menu for internet radio

I don't see this as an issue...is it that you didn't scroll to the bottom, or did you invoke the CM in a different way than I did?
Comment 2 Maurice Alou 2009-09-17 10:21:31 UTC
Ben, when i press the + button i see a menu very similar to the picture you posted except there is no Save to Favorites. Note: i am not running squeezecenter.
Comment 3 Pat Ransil 2009-09-22 10:32:40 UTC
QA - can you investigate?
Comment 4 James Richardson 2009-09-23 12:47:02 UTC
Confirmed, when connected to SN, browsing Internet Radio, Playing a Station, then selecting the + key, I do not see 'add to favorite' as an option.
Comment 5 James Richardson 2009-09-23 12:49:27 UTC
NOTE: press-hold on the Preset button does add the station as a preset

press-hold (SB3) IR remote + key will result in a 'bump'

14145 might be a duplicate
Comment 7 Ben Klaas 2009-10-12 06:44:42 UTC
They look like dups, but I think now there's two layers of bugs-- 14145 is the bug to enhance the CMs for XMLBrowse items beyond 3 items (internet radio is an XMLBrowse item), but this bug was opened before the 3 item CM was written, and is for SN-connected only. That makes me think there's something else going on beneath 14145. Leaving open, marking as dependent on 14145

I have had no luck adding favorites since the software update. There is no option after selecting an internet radio to do so--only the option to add to a Playlist Even attempts to add the stations manually on mysqueezebox.com does not work. The entries do appear in my Favorites list but will not connect to the station when selected. I get an error that my selection is not in my Playlist. Very frustrating.

Oops. I can manually add the internet radio stations on my squueezebox.com. I finally found the address error I made in all of them.

Since the upgrade to the software, when using the mysqueezebox.com network, I cannot add a Favorite with the remote. I can add it on-line on my computer. On the remote, if I select an Internet station, then press the select button I get the choice to add it to a playlist. Previously I got the choice to add it to Favorites. It took me a while to find the right tab on the mysqueezebox.com to add a Favorite and then it was updated on the remote. This is not a problem when using the Squeezebox server where I can add Favorites on the remote as before.
Two other points - it is no obvious how to get back from using the server to using the network on the remote. I have done it but I have to write down how I did it.
The new software uses colors on the remote that are hard to see. The selected item on my Duet remote does not stand out, especially if it is at the bottom of the list. It needs to be high-lighted more.

I just downloaded update 7.4.1 and it did not fix the issue of adding a station to Favorites using the remote. Pressing the "+" button still does not give me the option of adding an internet radio station to the Favorites list--just the option of adding it to a Playlist.
Comment 12 Jim Zachariah 2009-10-28 04:39:31 UTC
Can someone tell us what the status is on this fix? I downloaded the latest version 7.4.1 r7915 and the problem is still there. No matter which button your try pressing to save your favorite station that option to save does not show up. The option to add station manually from the website interface also disappeared. It would be great if your team can fix this issue with the next patch release since it's very critical issue. Or just put us back to the earlier version till the kinks are worked out. Thanks!!

Let's get me on the mailing list for this bug. I use the Duet for Internet Radio a lot, and not being able to add a station to Favorites easily is a step backwards.
Comment 15 Katharina Andresen 2009-12-15 06:43:21 UTC
I hope this bug gets the attention it deserves. It is a major problem for me as I listen to Internet Radio a lot.

Cannot understand how 7.4.1r7915 could be released with this bug...
If I search internet radio and find a station I like, it is not easy to enter it as favorite through MySB.com. You have to manually copy the URL from the SBC Now Playing > More Info screen. And getting that right when it's scrolling on the SBC is *not* easy. This should be a one-click thing...
Comment 17 Michael Herger 2010-01-18 07:31:08 UTC
INHO this has been fixed as part of bug 14145. I now can add a station eg. from the Internet Radio listing to the favorites (see change 28845)

This particular issue isn't fixed yet - reopening.
Comment 19 copperstate 2011-01-24 12:46:47 UTC
As Michael already indicated, this issue does not seem to be completely fixed. Although saving favorites on the "now playing" screen works fine using a local SBS server, it does not work using mysb.com. In order to save favorites there, one has to go up one level and then select "save favorites" in the context menu as there is no corresponding entry available on the "now playing" screen's context menu.

I have included three screen shots from Squeezeplay to illustrate the problem.
