Currently baby shows 1/4 power for a while and then very briefly shows a message (maybe 45 seconds according to Mickey, I still haven't seen it) saying charge me and then it shuts down. We're completely missing the red battery level meter icon from jive that indicates less than 1/4 charge. 

Suggest the last 10-20 minutes of playback show red battery icon to indicate very low, then display please charge me for more than 45 seconds. 

Richard do you need anything from me to quantify this? I spoke with Rico and we haven't come up with a good variable power jig but I can ping him again if it is what is needed.

Ross's suggestion sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Ross, I think this might be a dup.

The behaviour was changed to display low battery for a couple of minutes, and also stop the music. That way people will see the low battery warning.

Can you verify this works.

bug 14161 will discuss the whole battery icon state
bug 13761 fix's the state of low battery to display the warning message better
