Bugzilla – Bug 12932
Changing music path in control panel does not really change it
Last modified: 2009-07-28 03:06:02 UTC
After a new installation of Squeezebox server 7.4-r27663 I changed the music path in the control panel but it did not find any music. I opened up the settings in the WebUI, and the new music paths I entered were not there. After entering the music paths in the webUI they are saved. I still can't get it to find any music, but that's a separate problem...
Are you using the control panel or the WHS console?
Control Panel in Windows Vista. I'm leaving my WHS installation alone until 7.4 gets better.
> Control Panel in Windows Vista. I'm leaving my WHS installation alone > until 7.4 gets better. Any additional firewall or something else which could prevent communitation on port 9000? Can you telnet into localhost:9000?
I just have the Windows firewall. There are several entries in the exceptions for Squeezebox Server, and the WebUI opens.... so would that mean port 9000 is open? Yes, I can telnet to localhost 9000... at least I think I did it right.
works for me - QA, can you reproduce?
Works for me as of r27689 Please retest with that version or higher, then reopen with more details if you still see this issue. (logs would be good)
Created attachment 5513 [details] Screen shot
Ever since the first time I updated this installation, the control panel seems to be totally disconnected from what is going on with Squeezebox Server. Control panel shows that the server is stopped, but it is running in task manager and I can open the WebUI and connect to it from players just fine. Take a look at the screen shot I'm attaching. As you can see, the server is running, but the control panel says it's stopped. Does the diagnostics screen tell you anything useful? I guess if no one else is reporting trouble with the control pane, it must be something unique to my system. When I have more time I'll try installing in a virtual machine to see what happens.
Michael: IMHO this is a duplicate (now) of bug 12774
James - you might be right. How does the entry in the task manager look like?
But then... if this was a dupe, James, you should be easily able to reproduce this issue on the machine you're seeing bug 12774?
This issue should be fixed with change 27854 - the control panel didn't recognize SC running as we changed the executables file name. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 12774 ***
