Bugzilla – Bug 12840
Provide Squeezeplay baby strings prior to July 20th translation deadline
Last modified: 2009-10-05 14:26:37 UTC
Some that I can think of (will update as I see more) SWITCH_SERVER_TEXT (only for use when auto-switching from SC to SN or SC to SN. SC to SC will always be voluntary so no warning is planned. If desired there could be separate strings one for SC to SN and one for SN to SC --Current: EN You have made a selection that will cause this player to connect to a different library. Playback will stop, etc... SQUEEZEBOX_PROBLEM_HELP (trying to go to a Slim Browse item - network up but server is not connected for whatever reason) --Current: EN Couldn't connect your Squeezebox (todo: need new text here) SQUEEZEBOX_NETWORK_PROBLEM_HELP (trying to go to a Slim Browse item - network down) --Current: None
Some possible strings (for windows that might exist): 1) Help window that appears when pressing a preset button for which there is no favorite assignment, explaining about press-hold to save the current menu item (or current song if on NP) 2) If we decide to have no default assignment for the volume button - a help window telling the user that they will be taken to the shortcuts page where they can set the meaning of the volume button.
Also, there may be strings for: https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12308
Another string (this is actually for SC, but I'm throwing here for now): a string for the SN registration password "in-between" page which currently just says "enter password"
There's also bug 12647, which may or may not make it in time for MP, since I had failed to reassign it :/
Another speculative string related to autoswitch: See Bug 12843 According to Andy, we would need to bring the user back home in the case where we autoswitch while they are inside a service node (such as Amazon CD store). If they choose to switch servers (say from SC to SN), our best possibily is to take them back home (or possibly to the root node of the service, though that might get tricky). In the "take them home" case, we might want a different help string than the standard autoswitch string (or maybe just an extra sentence on the standard autoswitch string) telling them that they will be taken home.
yeah I saw this, thanks for putting this together Tom. More soon.
Another pretty significant change, coming from Seth: All mentions of "App Guide" need to be changed to "App Gallery." And this definitely needs to be in for SLT. I almost filed another bug on this one but held off, due to the inevitable groans ("make up your mind!" etc). But the decision is final.
Matt, please assign to Ben when you provide the text, since I will be on vacation next week.
Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the single original product.
Reset priority before triage.

If desired there > could be separate strings one for SC to SN and one for SN to SC > --Current: > EN You have made a selection that will cause this player to connect to a > different library. Playback will stop, etc... EN string here should read: You have made a selection that will cause playback to stop. this player to connect to a different library. If you continue, playback will stop. > SQUEEZEBOX_PROBLEM_HELP (trying to go to a Slim Browse item - network up but > server is not connected for whatever reason) > --Current: > EN Couldn't connect your Squeezebox (todo: need new text here) This is the SN connection error we discussed today, no? In this case, we should re-use the flow and strings for screens 10k (DNS doesn't work) and 10l (DNS worked, but can't connect to SN) in the new setup wizard. http://embargo.wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/New_Setup_Wizard#SCREEN_10K_-_ERROR_-_Connection_Error_.28DNS_didn.27t_work.29 > SQUEEZEBOX_NETWORK_PROBLEM_HELP (trying to go to a Slim Browse item - network > down) > --Current: None if this is a local network issue, we should re-use the strings we have for that. See bug 12435, comment 3.

Nahhh... we need a default setting for this.
(In reply to comment #2) > Also, there may be strings for: > https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12308 Use the strings from comment 3 in that bug as needed

No, we'll re-use the current string I think...
suggested text from comment #11 seem funky (such as the second sentence): EN string here should read: You have made a selection that will cause playback to stop. this player to connect to a different library. If you continue, playback will stop.

If you continue, > playback will stop. Oops, typo. Should read: You have made a selection that will connect to a different library, which will stop playback.
strings added for comment #16 in r6809, non-string work still left to do.
It appears all non-string work is tied into other bugs. Closing this one.
