Description Göran 2009-07-09 04:00:23 UTC
I hawed noticed some problems in the duet controller software (7.3.3), if you browse the music folder, and the artist or album folder contains a Swedish character (å,Å ä,Ä,öÖ) you get a problem that is described below...

I often use the browse music folder option when I searching for some music. When I press the play button to play the song I hawed chosen. The song that I already are playing stops and the new one newer starts, and that only happens If the artist or album folder contains a Swedish character.

Some times when you scroll back to the music folder root directory, and try browse the same folder again all the albums that belongs to the artist are gone. (you can't see them in the controller display).

If you select a song by pressing the (ok) button (the one that is placed in centre off the toggle wheel) and select the play this song option it works fine.

Please note that this problem regards to the Duet unit, all my SB3 works fine....

Does the same thing happen in the SC Web Interface?

Please also try SqueezePlay: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.3 Download the one for your Operating System. To see if the same behavior exists

No the SC Web Interface, works perfect. The problem just seems to appear in the duet controller.

Please also try Squeeze Play: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.3
Download the one for your Operating System. To see if the same behaviour exists

Do you talk about the Soft Squeeze application? if you mean that one, it also works without any problem.

Regards

No, SoftSqueeze is a Java based software player.
SqueezePlay is based on SqueezeOS, the same as the Controller. Please try SP to verify if the same error condition exists or if the behavior is different.

Thank you, this helps us figure out where the error is.

Sorry for the delay....

Yes the the same error condition exists in the Squeeze Play software, exactly the same behaviour seams to appear even there...

Göran: nothing more needs to be done on your end, we will investigate and fix the issue.

QA has confirmed issue with all SP based products and the mentioned character sets
Comment 8 Michael Herger 2009-07-30 22:40:41 UTC
This might be a duplicate of the negative side-effect caused by the fix for bug 10199...
Comment 9 Michael Herger 2009-07-31 09:02:26 UTC
Probably dupe of bug 11175?
Comment 10 Michael Herger 2009-08-03 06:30:51 UTC
James - do you confirm this issue for ReadyNAS only or what other platform?
Comment 11 Michael Herger 2009-08-17 05:06:14 UTC
QA - can you reproduce this with 7.4? Is this a ReadyNAS only issue? A dupe of bug 11175? Is there anything in server.log when this happens?
