Bugzilla – Bug 12723
Seeking support for AAC
Last modified: 2010-04-08 17:26:31 UTC
Moving or otherwise changing the value of the time bar in the Now Playing screen does not work. Player becomes silent and/or moves to next song. Tested with iTunes Purchased AAC and a r6269 Fab4 controlling itself. Works fine with MP3 and AIFF
Alan: is AAC supported by Song Scanner?
Not yet.
Andy, where are we with the initialAudioBlock stuff for AAC?
Need to look at it some more.
Unfortunately it looks like AAC seeking is going to be harder than I thought. Neither faad nor the Fraunhofer decoder will decode a seeked file that contains the original header. I suspect they both make use of atoms that contain byte offsets, and those need to be rewritten in the seeked file.
this is an administrative shuffle on priority fields to help make better judgment on the top end of the priority list. P4->P5, P3->P4, and P2->P3.
Maybe we should ask Fraunhofer for help.
moving current p2 bugs to p3 to make room for moving p1.5 bugs to p2
Administrative move of 7.5 bugs. All P2, P3, P4 being downgraded one level. Will then split P1s.

Fixed by enhanced faad.
