Bugzilla – Bug 12280
MCU shutdown code incomplete
Last modified: 2010-05-27 14:19:51 UTC
Had to press and hold the power button to allow baby to boot, reprogramming the MCU. This happened when I attempted to upgrade firmware, and the upgrade prodcedure failed.
James can you recreate?
Caleb had worked on this before our trip to Suzhou. It is better but there a many times when the MCU is reprogrammed. I'm unsure why. During boot you will see "msp430: firmware ok (106)" and all is good. Many times - more often then should - I will see "msp430: upgrade (-1 to 106)". When this happens it keeps the Pause and RWD from doing there thing causing problems with manufacturing.
Caleb is there a status update on these? This came up during the bug meeting.
There's a bug in the PB2 hardware (fixed in MPQ) that is causing me some trouble with shutdown. We may need to rework PB2s to make the battery work right.
This now works well enough for MPQ with revision 185. Battery charging may not work right with pre PA5 boards yet, because there's software averaging needed.
Moving to MP, since MP, CAT and CX won't have batteries.
Reset priority before triage.
