As discussed in the forum thread linked below, playlists (possibly just .m3u, possibly all playlist formats) are not being picked up in 7.4 post v26644 (tested in v 26650 and v26660).

Scanner.log attached for a playlist only scan. The key error appears to be:

[09-05-18 20:30:15.9914] Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (87) Error: Carp::Clan::__ANON__(): DBI Exception: DBD::SQLite::db begin_work failed: Already in a transaction at /<C:\PROGRA~1\SQUEEZ~3\server\scanner.exe>Slim/Schema/Storage.pm line 91

Please assign to ayoung@slimdevices.com as requested on the forum thread.

Same on Red Hat (Fedora 10), r26650, r2660.
Comment 2 Moonbase 2009-05-19 03:24:36 UTC
Sorry, typo: I meant r26650 and r26660.
Comment 3 Alan Young 2009-05-19 10:11:03 UTC
I hope have this nailed now with change 26682.
Comment 4 Ben Kochie 2009-05-28 19:29:05 UTC
This still doesn't seem to be working.

I have updated to 7.4~26754 debian package.

I downloaded the groovesalad.pls file to my playlists dir, and ran a "clear and rescan everything). mp3 playlists are still not working.

Comment 6 Alan Young 2009-05-29 01:01:12 UTC
Yes, you cannot do that. Local playlists can only contain local tracks. Remote playlists are only supported at play time. This is because remote tracks are no longer stored in the DB but the tracks in a scanned playlist have to be in the DB.

I guess that there is room for improvement here.
Comment 7 Ben Kochie 2009-05-29 09:15:40 UTC
Hrm, I have been using remote playlists as bookmarks for a number of online stations. I also use them as alarm targets for my boom.
Comment 8 Ben Kochie 2009-05-31 22:22:51 UTC
So I'm not sure, but I think this is preventing a number of internet radio stations in the "Staff Picks" list to not work.
Comment 9 Alan Young 2009-05-31 23:11:40 UTC
Can you give specific examples please.
Comment 10 Alan Young 2009-05-31 23:18:59 UTC
I have opened bug 12223 to track these (new) issues. The original subject of this bug report has been resolved. Please post further comments in the new bug.
