Description Mick 2009-05-01 02:27:05 UTC
While trying to change my receiver to use a static IP I got the box into a state where it would not connect to my Wireless network.

So I did a factory reset on the receiver. It was then detected as box in need of config by the controller, which assigned it a name like Squeezebox060b.

However when I switched to that player (receiver), the controller still had all the settings for that player stored somewhere. It displayed the wallpaper I'd assigned to it etc. And when I tried to configure it, the first thing it asked for was an IP address. I tried giving it a free IP address on the network but it just told me that it couldn't connect to the wireless network.

Multiple factory resets of the receiver made no difference. I had to also reset the controller to get it to "forget" about the receiver and let me configure it from scratch. This is a pain, because I have to set up all of the controller settings again for both the controller and the 2 other players I have.

The controller needs to have a "forget player" option somewhere within advanced settings to allow me to delete the config for a receiver without affecting the controller or any other players on my network.

Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the original product.

James: Setup of a factory reset SBR has not yet been implemented / fixed for SBC 7.4. This is covered in bug 12215.

As for this bug I am pretty sure it's not a P1.

this is an administrative shuffle on priority fields to help make better judgment on the top end of the priority list. P4->P5, P3->P4, and P2->P3.
