Ref artwork - current screen

Settings and interstitial screen text (after restart) should reflect new Logitech Guidelines.

->Encourage people to explore by making
actions easily reversible; provide safety nets
such “Restore factory settings” or “Restore
previous settings.”

Propose revision to interstitial screen to read "Factory Settings Restored." Will attached current screen ref and proposed change. We have updated our icon to match we should update the copy as well.

I strongly second this. We're following these guidelines everywhere else and should be consistent here.
Comment 3 Jim McAtee 2009-04-07 00:41:42 UTC
You think those guidelines are actually dictating the wording? Sounds to me like they're just saying that you should provide users a means of doing a factory reset.

Much more familiar to users would be to use present progressive tense, not past tense. The unit still has to go through a full reboot after the user sees the interstitial screen. Something along the lines of "Performing factory reset..." or "Restoring factory settings...". Just the same as if you gave them a menu item that said "Reboot Squeezebox Touch", you'd then present an interstitial screen that says "Rebooting...", not "System rebooted" prior to rebooting.

Fixed on fab4 branch, r6126 for all SqueezeOS products.
Comment 6 ndijulio 2009-08-12 12:30:44 UTC
Richard, has this been fixed for any other platforms?
Comment 7 Richard Titmuss 2009-08-13 03:18:06 UTC
No, a separate bug would be needed to fix this for the ip3k players.
