Description Blackketter Dean 2009-02-18 10:16:13 UTC
If you visit the sn home page and enter a wrong password, this is displayed:

The username or password you provided is incorrect.

but there's no place to click to have your good password sent. Releoading the home page brings it back, but the user shouldn't have to do this.

Image of Error

when you enter bad data and hit enter, you get this screen.

Must refresh to get back to 'forgot password' link

I thought we had resolved this in another bug, but I guess not.

The biggest issue is the lack of space for the error string and the forgot password link...

While it's not as friendly, I recommend shortening the error message to "Incorrect username or password." Then there's still room for the link "(Forgot your password?)." It's ok if the text bleeds a little to the right...

Luckily we are redesigning this page.

Wrapping doesn't work

We'd have to shorten all strings if we wanted to have neither bleeding to the right nor wrapping. I'll go the bleeding way, as it hurts less.

change 5853 - add "Forgot password" link when entering wrong login/password

Andy - could you please take care of the roll-out?
