Bugzilla – Bug 11096
Need a new way to preview screensavers when using touch UI
Last modified: 2011-01-14 12:27:52 UTC
instructions on the screensaver settings screen say to press play to preview. The instructions should be different for the touch interface. I propose: "Touch a screensaver to choose it, hold to preview"
moving current p2 bugs to p3 to make room for moving p1.5 bugs to p2
this bug is fixed now actually. touch-hold to preview was added yesterday
I just got my beta Touch yesterday, and it upgraded to 7.5.0-r7965 when I configured it. Although I can see the comment about holding a menu entry to preview a screensaver, nothing happens when I do so. Am I missing something?
this was fixed, but something else must have broken it. reopening

Also, unused add actions now bump only on non-mouse input, so that touch hold doesn't bump...
Please reopen this bug or let me know if you'd like another one filed. Same issues that I reported in bug 14527: 1. When you preview a screensaver, it almost always selects that item in the radio button list. What happens is that your press-hold continues while the screensaver is previewed, which immediately kicks you out of the preview and lifting your finger then selects the radio button. 2. The 'None' screensaver has nothing to preview, so if you attempt to preview it, it will always be selected. Press-hold on 'None' should be disabled and should not select the item. For the others, the press-hold needs to be cut off, then either require a new touch (a full touch/down and release cycle) to break out of the preview or else use a simple timed (10 second?) preview period.
reopening due to continuing issues
