Bugzilla – Bug 10822
SBC will go to standby even if audio playback is active
Last modified: 2012-03-29 06:55:05 UTC
Bug 9876 fixed the problem that power management was activated while music was playing. According to http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58324 the same still applies to "standby" mode. I verified this with the following settings/versions: power management settings: Sleep Timeout 60 Suspend Timeout 3600 Suspend Enabled on Suepend Wake off Wireless Power Safe on version: 7.3r3864 I played some radio and placed the SBC in a corner. Almost exactly one hour later the controller went standby and the music stopped. I have to shake the SBC to resume playback (and to run into bug 10774) Workaround: disable or extend Suspend timeout Solution (IMHO): disable Suspend if playback is active
Markus: what player was the SBC attached too?
sorry, the most important information was missing: player is the SBC itself.
Created attachment 4767 [details] serial capture Verified, when the SBC is audio source //settings > advanced > audio playback > enabled Play any stream Change sleep or suspend time Device will sleep/suspend even if an active stream is playing. On wake up, stream plays out the buffer, then stops. Log attached.
SBC Running on latest 7.3.3 , somethimes indeed when playback is active, and I leave the SBC for a short period , when i pick it up it cannot connect, it seems different then the bug reported here... Cheers, Steve
Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the single original product.
this is an administrative shuffle on priority fields to help make better judgment on the top end of the priority list. P4->P5, P3->P4, and P2->P3.
QA should verify this functions properly with latest 7.4 & SP devices
Verified that device will still suspend even if SBC is player and aduio is active. Moving target to 8.0 as this is not an advertised feature of the 7.4 release. This is a Controller only bug, Other SP based devices function properly

I understand that some people would really like to see some work here but it is pretty much guaranteed that it is not going to happen. If it works sufficiently well for you then great. Otherwise I am afraid that you are out of luck.
