Description Spies Steven 2009-01-16 16:09:18 UTC
SoX (Sound eXchange) functionality is missing for the Sparc based ReadyNAS. Without this functionality SqueezeCenter is unable to downsample. This prevents a user from playing 24/96 source files on Squeezebox Classic for example.

I know that the Sparc based ReadyNAS is a low powered device but hopefully it will have enough power to allow SoX to downsample.

Using SoX 14.2.0 on a Sparc based ReadyNAS to resample a 24/96 aif to a 24/48 aif with the quick option took about 9.7 times slower than real time. I think it goes without saying that unless SoX can be optimized for this platform resampling is simply not an option on the Sparc based ReadyNAS.

Since this no longer seems feasible bug 10659 seems like the only other option at this time.
Comment 3 Alan Young 2009-02-06 00:28:33 UTC
Not feasible.
