Description Joel Schnur 2008-12-02 08:13:41 UTC
In hybrid mode with a sb3 (wireless) and receiver (LAN via Buffalo ethernet converter) after changing to my SB3 I could not reconnect to the receiver.
I removed batteries, and the 4 gig kingston SD card and rebooted the contoller. Connection was resestablished.

could you update this bug with the version of Controller (Settings->Advanced->About) and version of SqueezeCenter you are using?

We had a similar problem recently that's been fixed. Want to make sure you are using up-to-date code first...

Version 73 r7364,
After I removed the sd card I was able to back and forth between the sb3 and receiver. However it takes a lot longer to go to the receiver than to the sb3.

Joel- if it's feasible for you to do, could you setup your Receiver to use wireless instead of the Buffalo eth converter and see if that improves connection time at all?

Also, if you could give a rough estimate by the time difference between connecting to SB3 vs. SBR, that would be helpful.

(untargetting bug and flagging for discussion in next bug meeting with QA)

assigning to Ross for reproducing.
pasted email that came directly to me from Joel. I'm a bit confused from the email on what the current state of the problem is:

I downloaded the latest version last night after the controller lost its mind this morning it is now 7.324187. This morning now playing was blank- I could change music but it did not show in now playing. but when I turned the controller off and back on it did not see the receiver.

I then updated to the above release and turned all alarms off. Good results so far.

Time difference is now the same-3 secs.

Before it was about 45 secs to get the receiver after I was on the sb3.

I get very poor reception where the receiver is located. I use a buffalo Ethernet converter with an external antenna with good results.

Signal level on the controller is between one and two bars in my bedroom.
