Description KDF 2005-03-09 11:25:22 UTC
After several seconds of playing a radio stream, and running the Analog VU
screensvaer, the music slows, lowering pitch. Changing the screensaver or
pressing a button to disengage screensaver causes the pitch/speed to return to
normal.

I can't recreate this - analog VU meter works fine for me.

What type of audio are you playing when this happens? Is it at the beginning of
a track or at any time? Does it vary depending on the format (MP3 vs. PCM vs.
FLAC)? Maybe I can get a file from you to try?

I have noticed it most often while playing radioio or live365 streams,
radioio70s or live365:Ultimate80's and a couple others that I'd have to look up
to remember.

I have repeated this and it still happens with svn r2476, playing Upbeat 80's
radio station from Live365 Editor picks. It takes between 30 and 60 seconds of
playing this stream.

OK. I finally heard it. The problem surfaces when you're running audio that
requires sample rate conversion. Turns out that the way we're doing the analog
VU meter is non-optimal and we peg the CPU a bit. I'll work on optimizing the
visualizer.

Fixed in latest firware.
