Description Matt Wise 2008-11-03 08:57:36 UTC
Right now when SC downloads a jive*.bin and it fails its sha1sum, SC waits 10 minutes and downloads again. In the case where we upload a bad SHA file, it causes thousands of users to start constantly downloading the file over and over again. This behavior should change.

I propose that SC should re-try the download 3 times in a 60 minute period. If those 3 fail, it should delay the next check for 24 hours. This limits the max downloads to 4 in a 24 hour period (one initial try, three retries).

Already fixed this morning. Will back off x2 up to a max of 1 day.
