Bugzilla – Bug 9872
major inconsistentcies with comp tags
Last modified: 2011-03-06 08:06:54 UTC
i am putting a thread here where a guy went thru and exhaaustively showed what happens in flac when you have no comp tags, comp tags =1 or =0, and even a mix of each on a given album. i think there will be some crossover with mp3s, and other formats, as well as with bug 9870 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53615 i will try to find the other posts that collaborate a lot of what he says in that thread, but i might not be able to. however, i recall reading them and lot of it was the same.
Steven: can you have a look at this one? Possible dupe of bug 9870
its not a dupe imo b/c that thread details lots of inconsistent behaviors, above and beyond 9870s weirdness. but i'd guess there is overlap.
I have partially read through the forum post, which is very confusing because it is talking in several places about the third-party plugin "CustomBrowse", not standard SqueezeCenter functionality. If there is a specific SqueezeCenter bug being proposed, could the summary be changed to summarise what the problem is, and fully describe the actual issues in a note? Third-party plugin issues shouldn't be on SC bugs.
yes, i agree thats confusing, but as i mentioned it has been corroborated to some extent elsewhere: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47202&page=2 post 29.
this is another bug (like bug 9870 ) i think should be closed as resolved, b/c a lot of it may now not apply with the scanner updates/fixes. however, some of it may be relevant when comp tags are inconsistently applied to albums, eg. an album where half the tracks have no comp tag, and the other half have comp=0 still, any similar issues would probably be best dealt with in a new bug, and it should reference this one if appropriate. if anyone objects, let me know, i'll reopen, don't be shy! -mdw
