MP3 file which used to be able to play

One of my old MP3 files, fails to pass the scanner in 7.2.1

The song is missing in the database, number 10 is not listed
as a song in the album.

There has been no problems with the song until version 7.2.1

QA to investigate

I had no problem scanning this file with SqueezeCenter 7.2.1.

Are you sure that the file is not getting picked up by the scanner?

I do see that the track has a compilation tag and a TPE2 tag of Various Artists. Perhaps the other tracks in the album do not have these tags so this track is listed separately in SqueezeCenter. Does the track show up under Various Artists? Can you find the track by using Search Music?

Hi

More info on this bug.

It now turns out the scanner is non-deterministic !

At some scan's the song is in the database and able to play.

At other scan's the song is not in the database, as is not able to play.

Just did two clean re-scans, after the first the song was not found. Did
another clean re-scan, now the song was present and able to play !

Finn, are you still having these issues with the current 7.3.1 release?
Comment 5 Finn Brodersen 2009-01-08 23:48:24 UTC
Hi

No problems after I deleted all ID3 tags for all songs in the album with the "problematic" MP3 and re-tagged all songs again from scratch.
Comment 6 Chris Owens 2009-03-16 09:38:28 UTC
We are now planning to make a 7.3.3 release. Please review your bugs (all marked open against 7.3.3) to see if they can be fixed in the next few weeks, or if they should be retargeted for 7.4 or future.

Thanks!
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2009-03-30 17:30:50 UTC
Since there's now a planned 7.3.3 release, bugs which won't make the cut-off are being moved to the next target out. If you feel that this bug needs to be addressed more (or less) urgently than the 7.4 release, please cc chris@slimdevices.com and leave a comment in the bug to that effect so we can review it.

Thanks.

For some reason Bugzilla did not change the target when I did this yesterday. Or maybe it was me. In either case, I'm trying it again.

Closing as works for me. If you still see this issue with 7.3.3 please reopen and add additional comments.
Comment 10 James Richardson 2012-02-27 17:33:23 UTC
Closing resolved bugs - if you feel this bug still exists please first re-test
with the latest SW/FW version. If you are able to reproduce then feel free to
reopen and attach new logs / steps to reproduce.
