Bugzilla – Bug 9795
Last.fm account is not upgraded following subscription
Last modified: 2009-10-05 16:43:44 UTC
I had a last.fm account configured for SqueezeCenter (via SqueezeNetwork). This was not a subscription account. I payed for a last.fm subscription (upgrading that account to a subscriber via www.lastfm.com). SqueezeCenter seemed to understand that the account was now a full subsciption, as I could play my loved tracks through SC. However, I could not play a friends loved tracks. I managed to work around this issue by logging into www.squeezenetwork and deleting the registered lastfm account profile (which is very unclear - there is no indication in the SN pages that the checkbox needs to be ticked and committed to delete the profile). I then re-entered the last.fm account, and re-authenticated it. Something needs to happen to SN or SC to detect when an account is upgraded/downgraded to provide the correct options in the last.fm plugin, or at least indicate that the account needs to be manually reset following a change in subscription.

Verified, have to remove the LastFM account, then reapply it for the change to take effect.
I just fell foul of something similar. I was a subscriber, and could play friends loved tracks. My subscription had expired (I didn't know that it had), and when I tried to play friends loved tracks, it just didn't work. No error on the screen (I was using WebUI), and the log didn't give much guidance either: [17:05:10.7685] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_getNextTrack (618) Giving up because of too many consecutive errors: 2 Further investigation revealed that my subscription had expired, but SC hadn't detected the change in subscription status.
I think this has been fixed by recent refactoring.
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of MySqueezebox.com (formally known as SqueezeNetwork)! If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
