Description Andy Grundman 2008-10-22 11:20:43 UTC
A second or so of static is output at the end of each ALAC file. Other transcoded formats may also be affected. Reproduced on a Mac.
Comment 1 sjf1 2008-10-22 12:31:34 UTC
The static is about five seconds.
Comment 2 sjf1 2008-10-22 13:13:51 UTC
Hardware is mac with OS/X 10.5.5
Comment 3 Alan Young 2008-10-22 13:21:48 UTC
What build/version of SC 7,3 please?
Comment 4 sjf1 2008-10-22 13:27:04 UTC
It was the version available Sunday evening and then replaced by the one available on Monday evening. Same problem on both versions. I have since backed it out and gone back to 7.2.1 so don't have the specific build/version number.
Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2008-10-22 13:30:52 UTC
I hear the problem with trunk.
Comment 6 sjf1 2008-10-22 13:33:10 UTC
I guess I don't know what "trunk" means here.
Comment 7 Patrick Ferdig 2008-10-22 15:20:46 UTC
having same issue on 7.3 Linux nightlies for last couple of weeks.
Comment 8 Robert Koechl 2008-10-27 12:19:48 UTC
Same problem for me. I am using Linux and the latest 7.3 nightlies. Had this problem since I changed to the beta version.
Comment 9 Robert Koechl 2008-10-27 12:40:54 UTC
By the way, it doesn't seem to happen after every file?
My files are apple lossless encoded.
If I have some time I will try and find out if it happens reproducibly after some files and not others or if it is a random event.
Comment 10 Alan Young 2008-10-29 23:16:35 UTC
Fixed in change 23722 although it is not clear why it fails with transcoding when reading from stdin.
Comment 11 James Richardson 2008-12-15 12:08:34 UTC
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.

I am still having exactly the problem described in this log with the official release (downloaded some time in January 2009), i.e., loud statics at the end of ALAC files.

I am running Squeezecenter 7.3 on Ubuntu 8.04 server.
