Description James Rome 2008-10-17 11:22:38 UTC
I managed to install the Oct 17 version of 7.3 and the 10/16 version of SqueezePlay. But I am totally confused about what is supposed to happen.

First of all, SP outputs its sound to the internal speaker of my MacPro, and not to my selected digital output.

Second, the SoftSqueeze link on the QWeb page still does not install SoftSqueeze for me. It just puts the jnlp file on my desktop. If I click it, SoftSqueeze becomes active in the toolbar, but no Window appears.

Third, I can't figure out how to navigate SqueezePlay. It comes up and tries to connect to SoftSqueeze and sits there. SP is supposed to be a replacement for SoftSqueeze. I can't get any music to play unless I start the old SoftSqueeze and select it from SP, but then, what good is SP? I already have the much friendlier SS GUI.

It initially tried to connect to jarmac.local. I changed it to the ip address, but there seems no way to get back to jarmac.local as localhost (as opposed to the name).

Now, it refuses to do anything until I update my squeezebox software, even after a restart of SP. I cannot select a different player until I update the fgirmware.

So I have yet to get it to actually play anything!

Sorry, but this is a very non-intuitive user interface.
