Description erik 2008-10-14 00:15:34 UTC
1) make sure "direct streaming" is set as MP3 streaming method for the player.

2) subscribe to the Stackoverflow podcast using Squeezecenter.
Subscription url: http://blog.stackoverflow.com/index.php?feed=podcast

3) try playing episode #25 (I don't know if this is episode-specific or a problem with all episodes; I only tested with the latest episode).

4) notice that you get "checking stream ..." and then no sound

5) change MP3 streaming method to "proxied streaming"

6) try playing episode #25 again

7) notice that the podcast plays fine

Bug also repruducable on Squeezebox Boom

This ironically named podcast sends a cookie header that is about 2.5K in size and this causes a problem with the firmware allocation for the HTTP request string.

I've added code to strip long cookies and these files play now.

Fixed in change 23871.
