Bugzilla – Bug 9647
Jive: 7.3_r3055 bin: Unit cannot boot up at all. AT ALL, not just sometimes.
Last modified: 2008-12-15 12:40:44 UTC
Jive Unit: MP Unit Note: With past FW, some units, sometimes get stuck at "Free Your Music" page when booting. The key word is "sometimes". Steps to Repoduce: 1. Jive unit was at jive_7.3_r30176.bin. 2. Update it to jive_7.3_r3055.bin -- today's build. 3. After the update, Jive automatically reboots. 4. Notice the screen would get stuck at "Logitech" for a while, then it goes blank. It does not even reach the "Free Your Music" page.
Created attachment 4104 [details] Output on a Putty terminal. Tried turn it on 4 times already.
Created attachment 4105 [details] Putty.log. Not just copied and pasted from terminal. According to the terminal, "Jive: module 'jive.JiveMain' not found:". Is this the problem? on the 5th try: The Jive is now stuck at "Logitech" page. Putty terminal is stuck at these lines: stack traceback: [C 0x4723c]: ? [C 0x110d4]: ?
cc:ing Tom. This is a problem with the poky build that he's already working on.
Anyone got stuck with today's build please hold down the volumn up when botting. That should put the Jive back to the previous FW. If you have problem rebooting, please: 1. Take out the battery, 2. Hold down the volumn up button, 3. Insert the battery while still holding down the vol up button. The Jive should boot when battery is inserted. 4. Keep holding down the vol up button until Jive finishes booting.
(In reply to comment #4) > Anyone got stuck with today's build please hold down the volumn up when > botting. That should put the Jive back to the previous FW. agree'd (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53364). hat's off for this fine design decision with two switchable images - i love fail-safe systems :)
