SqueezeCenter v 7.2.1

Customer would like "Current browser" added to the "Player chooser" in the upper right corner of the SqueezeCenter webinterface. Customer states that adding this feature would eliminate the need to install SoftSqueeze, and it would make it more Internet-friendly.

You can't play back music in the browser, and there are no plans to implement this. Similar functionality will be available with SqueezePlay: this can control any player _and_ play music on your computer.

I'm aware that SqueezeCenter cannot playback music in the browser, but it's perfectly possible to play back music in a browser.

You cannot install SqueezePlay on _any_ computer because of access restrictions, also, firewalls tend to mess up the mp3-stream since it's transferred using a nonhttp port (80).

The "Current browser" method I described would only require a ... browser (it too can control any player).

Playing back musicfiles residing on the local computer is already handeled by the default mediaplayer all OSes and distro's are delivered with out-of-box, I don't see that as a necessary feature, just another mediaplayer struggeling for file associations.

SqueezeCenter users don't need their music stored localy, that's the point of SqueezeCenter ... right? ;)

This sounds like a good Plug-In opportunity. Feel free to write one and publish it.
