Bugzilla – Bug 9593
SqueezeCenter not reading tags in AIFF files
Last modified: 2009-07-31 10:30:18 UTC
SqueezeCenter 7.2 is not reading the tags in AIFF files. I upgraded to 7.2 (since I bought a boom), then when I scanned my library it did not read the tags. All songs were marked no artist, no genre, no album, no year, etc. It appears that it is not reading any of the tags. I would reference bug #5973 and comment #11 -- hopefully this points the way to a quick resolution I tried repointing SqueezeCenter to my compressed music (duplicate of my whole collection in AAC -- for my iPod). It was able to correctly read the tag information for these files. I then repointed it back to my uncompressed library -- all in AIFF -- and again it was not able to read any of the tag information.

Andy, if it doesn't look like you can look at this for 7.2.1, please go ahead and re-target for 7.3
Can you attach a short file that we aren't reading correctly?
Created attachment 4084 [details] short AIFF file
Created attachment 4085 [details] another short AIFF file
Please try the latest 7.2.1 nightly build. I can read the ID3 tags in both of these files just fine.
Whatever was done between 7.2 & 7.2.1 fixed the issue 7.2.1 now reads my AIFF files and tags fine
