Description Gordon Harris 2008-09-24 19:32:08 UTC
With a large library, the SBC times out and looses connection to SC while waiting for excessively long queries to return.

Please see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53033

Steps to reproduce:

1). Install the sql data from: http://wwww.hegardtfoundation.org/slimstuff/MySQL.zip (raw SQL data) or from http://www.hegardtfoundation.org/mysqldump.zip

2). Turn on 'Group compilaton albums together' in Settings->Music Library->Compilations.

3). Using the SBC, attempt to browse into the "German Baroque" genre. The SBC "locks up" and looses connection with SC while waiting for the queries to return data.

Sorry, make that http://www.hegardtfoundation.org/slimstuff/mysqldump.zip

When this kind of bug has turned up in the past, it's always been because of a bad underlying SQL query. Adding Andy for advice on what to capture from SC logs.
Comment 3 Andy Grundman 2008-09-25 12:39:04 UTC
database.sql will dump all the queries.

Andy: my working theory now is that this bug report is a dupe of bug 7992. I didn't realize that that bug had been reopened. John Gnagy, at whose request that bug was reopened, reports that he is using 'group compilations'. I'm guessing that your 7992 fix doesn't cover the VA queries.

I suggest that this bug be closed as a duplicate of 7992.

Comment 5 Chris Owens 2008-09-29 10:19:21 UTC
Andy agrees it is a dupe
