Have radio stations listed by bit rate
Last modified: 2008-09-23 16:06:40 UTC
A customer would like to have a way to view a list of Internet Radio stations listed from best possible bit rate to lowest. Here is the description of the enhancement in his words. I'm not exactly sure how the Hifidelio Internet radio worked other than I think it must have been their own software. It worked a little like the 'Screamer' Internet radio software as in the first menu you selected from was 'Genre' of which there were the normal selection so you selected say 'Classical' then it searched for all available Classical radio stations and listed them in 'bit rate' order so you had the name of the station and it's bit rate next to it in the menu, and then selected the one you wanted to listen to. The handy thing was that it would put the highest bit-rate stations at the top of the list. I'm sure this was a function of their own onboard software as unlike in the Squeezebox there was no 'supplier' or 'host' such as 'RadioIO' and 'Radiotime' to select stations through. If there was a chance this functionality could be added to Squeezebox Duet that would be fantastic!
Will be implemented for Shoutcast only, pending rewrite. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 8220 ***
