Description Marc Auslander 2008-09-22 06:58:12 UTC
There is a thread in the forum trying to diagnose a controller failure to work after sleep. The request for details includes using the remote login setting to find the current IP address!

AFAIK, there is no way to get the controller signal strength at all - beyond the counting of bars!

IMHO, both need to be included in the about screen for the controller.

Richard, didn't we recently talk about this with tech support? Since nothing was done I assume there was some reason not to do this?

this is really a dupe and not a dependency. Closing in favor of 5582

Just to add a note that the ip address and network strength is available when using an access point in the Network Settings menu by selecting your current access point. This information is unfortunately not yet available when using bridged mode with the Receiver.

If I remember correctly you should be able to get the IP address of the Controller by enabling SSH even in bridged mode.
