Description Dan Evans 2008-09-17 10:01:13 UTC
(from support# 080913-001638)

We have a report from a customer that his SB3 caused his Netgear MR814 to crash whenever he'd connect it. We didn't get to troubleshoot very far because he decided to return the SB3 because of this. (other devices connected successfully to his router, according to him.)

I asked him to report the firmware on his router but I have not heard back.

Any idea which MR814?

Duh, it says v2 in the summary.

This router angers me, the wizard is broken. <routerip>/basicsetting.htm got me past it; thanks to Friet of netgear forums for sharing this.

Once this router is setup properly, which is difficult because of the broken wizard, this works fine. I've connected an SB3 (and Duet) and used ping tests to verify the network is up, there is no packet loss with or without SB3 connected.

Dan what ever happened with this support ticket? Did you offer your customer the broken wizard work around I discovered? Perhaps that would help him to double-check his router settings, and possibly update firmware?

He requested a refund so troubleshooting stopped there. However, we've not heard anything back from him in 2 months.

Thanks Dan. I'm going to mark this as works for me, if anyone seeing this has any input please feel free to re-open with details.
