Bugzilla – Bug 950
SlimServer doesn't deal well with album names that end in "..."
Last modified: 2008-12-18 11:50:25 UTC
I ripped the album "Even in the Quietest Moments..." by Supertramp. The directory name and contents are: brain:727> ls /music/Supertramp/Even\ in\ the\ Quietest\ Moments.../ 01 - Give a Little Bit.mp3 02 - Lover Boy.mp3 03 - Even in the Quietest Moments.mp3 04 - Downstream.mp3 05 - Babaji.mp3 06 - From Now On.mp3 07 - Fool's Overture.mp3 Supertramp-Even in the Quietest Moments....m3u When rescanning the /music folder, Slimserver didn't index any of these tracks. If you do a "Browse Music Folder", it shows "Supertramp"; go into that directory and it shows "Even in the Quietest Moments..."; go into that directory and it shows "Empty" - it's not seeing any of the mp3 files. The same problem happened with another album whose name ended in "..." ("Shakespeare My Butt..." by The Lowest of the Low). A sample ID3 tag dump from one of these MP3 files: brain:729> id3info /music/Supertramp/Even\ in\ the\ Quietest\ Moments.../07\ -\ Fool\'s\ Overture.mp3 *** Tag information for /music/Supertramp/Even in the Quietest Moments.../07 - Fool's Overture.mp3 === TSSE (Software/Hardware and settings used for encoding): LAME v3.96.1 === TIT2 (Title/songname/content description): Fool's Overture === TPE1 (Lead performer(s)/Soloist(s)): Supertramp === TALB (Album/Movie/Show title): Even in the Quietest Moments... === TYER (Year): 1977 === COMM (Comments): ()[XXX]: Ripped by Grip === TRCK (Track number/Position in set): 7 === TCON (Content type): (17) === COMM (Comments): (ID3v1 Comment)[XXX]: Ripped by Grip *** mp3 info MPEG1/layer III Bitrate: 128KBps Frequency: 44KHz
William - I just checked in a fix for this as subversion change 2336. It will be in the next nightly build, or if you're keeping up with svn, sync your tree.
There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
