Description Mickey Gee 2008-09-15 11:58:45 UTC
When signing up for the Italian service, the URL for Logitech's privacy policy goes to one written in English. It should go to the one used on the www.logitech.it web site:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/footer/privacy/&cl=it,it
Comment 1 Mickey Gee 2008-09-15 12:00:41 UTC
To be specific, it's the one in this paragraph on the "Crea account SqueezeNetwork" page:

Logitech rispetta e protegge la tua privacy e pertanto non affitterà, venderà o condividerà i tuoi dati personali con altre aziende per scopi promozionali. Per informazioni su come Logitech utilizza e protegge i dati personali, leggere la nostra normativa sulla privacy.

Comment 2 Andy Grundman 2008-09-15 12:09:02 UTC
The privacy URL is localized only based on the user's language. So if they choose Italian it'll be it,it.
Comment 3 Mickey Gee 2008-09-15 12:14:55 UTC
I stated something incorrectly previously. When you select the link in the paragraph above,

"leggere la nostra normativa sulla privacy."

it goes to the Slim Devices page:

http://www.slimdevices.com/au_privacy.html

Clicking on that link should use the logic you mentioned in Comment #2, but currently isn't.
Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2008-09-15 12:20:57 UTC
OK you're right, this is not an Italian-only issue. The string USER_REGISTER_NEWSLETTER_POLICY is wrong.
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2008-09-16 03:46:22 UTC
change 4549 - fix link to point to Logitech's Italian privacy statement.
Comment 6 Andy Grundman 2008-09-16 06:07:30 UTC
Shouldn't all the links in that string be changed?
Comment 7 Michael Herger 2008-09-16 06:15:07 UTC
you mean in all languages? Probably, yes...
Comment 8 Michael Herger 2008-09-23 01:59:50 UTC
change 4598 - fixing other languages
