Initial artist scroll through from A-Z of my ~400 albums took 10 seconds, and seemed the fastest scrolling never kicked in. Subsequent scrolling from A-Z only took 5 seconds with the fastest acceleration kicking in more quickly.

I don't see this behavior when testing with SqueezeCenter 7.2.1-23518 Boom r33

Are you scrolling via Music Library > Artist / Album
OR
Music Library > Music Folder

Are you using the Knob on the front of the Boom 
or
Are you using the IR Remote
