Description Mikael Nyberg 2008-09-07 07:21:02 UTC
When i try to choose "Music Source" nothing happens in that meny ?
You are supposed to get a choice between SC, SN and "other server".
But absolutely nothing happens when clicking here ?

You can workaround for SB3 but not for SBR

Workaround for SB3 is to switch to SN via ir-remote.
Then the controller actually switches to SN ? and you can control your player from there ?

I think this is major as it is now imposible to switch between SN and SC if you have a SBR.

Controller version is r2907 password protection of SC is used.

MySQL Version: 4.1.20

Platform Architecture: i686-linux

Total Players Recognized: 2

Turning off PW protection in SC does nothing.

Controller remember the PW when I apply PW protection again with the same pass.
So i will try to remove pw protection and reinstall r2907 ,but it not aviable anymore ?

it's a longshot anyway PW protection of SC worked reliable with previus controller version, so it's unlikely that this is the cause, but it is one thing i can try myself, the rest is up to you i'm afraid.

If you want me to log something or look at specific files please instruct me on what to do and i'll try to help.

server log is filled with:
[08-09-07 16:34:14.4059] Slim::Utils::Firmware::downloadAsyncError (500) Warning: Firmware: Failed to download http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.3/jive.version (404 Not Found), will try again in 10 minutes.

browsingnto http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.3/ verifies that it is empty.

Reinstalled jive_7.2_r2907.bin from 7.2.1 branch problem is still there.
Comment 3 Mikael Nyberg 2008-09-09 14:36:38 UTC
Ok I downgraded to.
jive_7.2_r2873.bin.
Then my music source menu came back !
I can now choose between SN and SC.

So the combo latests 7.3 ( rpm package on CC4.2 ) and jive r2907 has this bug.

I'm willing to try a never jive if you think you have made any significant change that could fix this.

Ben suggests that rebooting the controller might also fix the problem.
Comment 5 Ben Klaas 2008-09-10 16:36:17 UTC
actually, to be clear, I was positing that I think it was an issue unrelated to the difference between 2873 and 2907 and 7.2/7.3, but rather a general issue that "fixed" itself after reboot.

I'm expecting this will actually be tricky to track down, but mine to investigate for a priority solution
Comment 6 Mikael Nyberg 2008-09-10 21:36:49 UTC
What do you mean by rebooting ? I tried the usual stuff restarted the controller removed the battery.
I also reinstalled r2907 with SD card did not help.

I moved to this beta now:
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.3 - 23122 @ Wed Sep 10 03:01:15 PDT 2008 - Red Hat - EN - utf8
Server IP address: 192.168.1.5
Perl Version: 5.8.5 i386-linux-thread-multi
MySQL Version: 4.1.20

Platform Architecture: i686-linux

I try this experiment, now that my controller is on r2873 i'll try to upgrade it to r2907 and see whats happens:

Result I uppgraded to r2907 and my music source menu is gone again :)
I can reproduce it !

I leave it like this now. is it something I could look at from my side ?
Comment 7 Mikael Nyberg 2008-09-10 21:39:47 UTC
I have "music source" at my home menu if thats matter ?
Comment 8 Ben Klaas 2008-09-11 08:49:37 UTC
I doubt it, but could you remove it from your home menu and see if the bad behavior continues on r2907?

Comment 9 Mikael Nyberg 2008-09-11 08:59:05 UTC
No it does not matter if it's on the home menu or not.
But i was thinking of removing it from home menu in 2873 and then upgrade to 2907.

I'm trying this right now, i removed it from home menu in 2907 problem still there, downgraded to 2873 everything's fine and now upgrading to 2907 again...
nope still no working "music source" menu ?

And I have tried the menu in both places.

Mikael, I'm going to close this one in favor of bug 9307, which I believe are duplicates of one another.

If you could look at bug 9307, comment 5 of that bug and see if you could also provide the debug information requested, that would be much appreciated.
