This is with v7.2 r23050 (SqueezeCentre Version: 7.2 - TRUNK @ UNKNOWN - Windows Vista - EN - cp1252).

With a VA album (or an album that has tracks by more than one album with has COMPILATION=0 set)... From the player UI now playing playlist, going right to a track's properties, then right to ALBUM only shows tracks by the current track's artist. It should show tracks by all artists on that album.

The same also applies when browsing/searching the music library.

Incredibly, there seems to be consensus that your request really is the correct behavior.

QA to follow up when new schema gets farther along.

:-) The behaviour was different in v7.1 and earlier.

I can see an argument for having it the way it currently is - if you've browsed and made a query, having a lower level object return results with are not as constrained as the higher level ones is inconsistent.

That said, YEARS, ALBUM ARTIST, etc. do shows more than the current query. And now playing should always show more since the user has no way of knowing what query gave rise to the now playing tracks. And it's a really useful feature.

Thanks for looking in to it.
