Description Dwayne Hull 2008-09-02 21:49:44 UTC
First get get two players going on the same Sirius channel. I used softsqueeze 3.7 and a squeezebox V2.
They are happy until I (via squeezecenter) try to sync them up.
Sync fails and neither player is able to continue playing the channel.
I see the following in the SoftSqueeze console:
0 [AudioDecoder-1] WARN javasound.verbose - audioDecoder did not write
(0) the same number of bytes as read (4608)
115602 [AudioDecoder-2] WARN javasound.verbose - audioDecoder did not
write (0) the same number of bytes as read (4608)

You cannot sync Sirius as we do not support proxied-streaming for MMS (which Sirius uses, bug 6599) and proxied streaming is required for proper radio sync. Also Sirius only allows one stream per account, so even bad sync does not work.

I guess that the Sirius protocol handler should trap attempts to sync and fail gracefully.

It looks like there are some other SoftSqueeze problems you have tripped over when you tried this.

Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2008-10-09 05:34:39 UTC
Sync on Sirius does work, at least as far as you won't get disconnected if you try it. The streams will almost always be out of sync though. :(
Comment 6 Andy Grundman 2008-11-05 08:26:27 UTC
7.3 now supports synced WMA properly.
Comment 7 Osama Zaidan 2008-11-24 10:52:45 UTC
Customer claims, Softsqueeze provided with 7.3 will not connect to a Sirius stream.
Customer is wondering if anyone tried softsqueeze that comes with 7.3?
He can't test sync on Sirius streams unless soft\squeeze works because he only have
one squeezebox.
Comment 8 Andy Grundman 2008-11-24 11:01:05 UTC
Sync with Softsqueeze is hit or miss anyway, you'll need to test with real players.
Comment 9 James Richardson 2008-12-15 12:07:13 UTC
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
