Description Wallace Lai 2008-09-02 17:07:57 UTC
System Info:
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.2 - 22900 @ Tue Aug 26 11:25:48 PDT 2008 - Netgear RAIDiator - EN - utf8
Perl Version: 5.8.8 sparc-linux
MySQL Version: 5.0.24a-Debian_3.infrant1

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure SqueezeCenter is already installed.
2. Creat a folder inside the ReadyNAS' Music folder, like SomeSongs.
3. Copy some songs into this SomeSongs folder.
4. Now copy some folders containing songs into the SomeSongs folder.
5. Point the Music Folder to the "SomeSongs" directory.
6. Perform a "Clear library and rescan everything".
7. After the rescan, go to the Music Folder in the Browser frame.
7. Click the "+" button for all songs. This should add all songs in the "Music Folder" to the PlayList.
8. Notice sometimes the songs in sub folers inside "SomeSongs" are not added to the PlayList. Only the songs directly in the "Music Folder" are on the PlayList.

Work Around:
Click the "+" button again. The songs in sub folders may be added this time.

Steven: can you work with Wallace on this.
Comment 4 Spies Steven 2008-09-17 10:10:02 UTC
I don't believe this is a ReadyNAS specific issue. Can you do it successfully from the player ui instead of the web interface? Adding all songs of your library to the current playlist most likely is quite an intensive operation and might be the issue you are seeing since the ReadyNAS is a low power device. Perhaps the timeout is too short. Can you add this music to the current playlist successfully using Artists or Albums instead of Music Folder for example?

Also keep in mind that browse Music Folder is different then the other methods of browsing your library and does not necessarily require rescans since it looks directly at the folder structure and not necessarily the database.

Yes, the songs can be added through artist or something else. It takes time to go to each artist and press "+". This bug is about adding all songs with one click. Most of the time, it works great. Sometimes, it does not work perfectly.

Michael suggests in Bug 9484 to try using the latest 7.2.1 nightly for browsing the music folder with slowish hardware.
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2008-09-29 09:28:04 UTC
This may be fixed in a 7.2.1 nightly. If not, we will look at it for 7.3
Comment 8 James Richardson 2008-10-30 14:12:30 UTC
Wallace, does this bug still exist with the latest nightly build?
Comment 9 James Richardson 2008-11-13 09:42:56 UTC
Steven: can you verify this issue with 7.3
Comment 10 Spies Steven 2008-11-21 08:28:49 UTC
I have not been able to reproduce the issue as described on the ReadyNAS NV+ with Version: 7.3 - 23994. Closing as works for me.

Wallace if you still see this issue reopen the bug and add additional comments.
Comment 11 Chris Owens 2009-07-31 10:28:58 UTC
Reduce number of active targets for SC
Comment 12 James Richardson 2012-02-27 17:33:36 UTC
Closing resolved bugs - if you feel this bug still exists please first re-test
with the latest SW/FW version. If you are able to reproduce then feel free to
reopen and attach new logs / steps to reproduce.
