Bugzilla – Bug 9357
Add ability to include Line Out item in top level menu
Last modified: 2008-12-15 12:06:46 UTC
I use headphones on my Boom quite a bit. I'd like to easily switch the Boom Line Out between headphones and speakers. This would be helped if I could add the Settings/Audio/Line Out item to my top level player menu via the web ui. BTW. Which Component choice does this fit... Audio, Front Panel, Hardware or SetUp? I've chosen Audio 'cos I know Caleb uses headphones. :-)
Ben/Michael: Can you guys make this a home-menu capable item? Can this be done in one place?
there already is a home-menu capable item for line out on SBC Settings->Audio->Line Out and then if you want it on the top menu Settings->Home Menu, then check box for Line Out item
I tried to raise this bug for the (Boom) player interface and web gui (for the settings) only, but think I chose the wrong category. Maybe it should have been SqueezeCenter, not Boom. Sorry. As it is complimentary to this bug: https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9051 which is currently scheduled for 7.2.1 I'm surprised to see it punted to 7.3 though (especially as it "appears" simple to cure).
I'd say this bug depends on 9051: that menu option only makes sense if we have always on/off modes. Selecting sub or head out doesn't make sense in your situation, does it?
Dead right Michael. In essence all I am really interested in is being able to choose between speakers and headphones from the top level of the Boom player menu.
Simon - there's now a plugin to add the menu. But I've disabled it by default, as it's of little use without the additional DSP/firmware change we need to enable the "Line out off" mode.
Created attachment 4100 [details] Removing SubHeadOut plugin again... I'm sorry Simon - I've remove the plugin, as there needs to be more planning and work in bug 9051. Attaching the code for future use...
Created attachment 4101 [details] removing sub/headphone out reverting diff
change 23488 - add optional (disabled by default) Line Out plugin which adds those settings to the web/player main menu. Controller is covered by the Controller's menu configuration applet.
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already. If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
