Bugzilla – Bug 9348
Attemping to change volume kills stream.
Last modified: 2008-09-05 18:29:11 UTC
I have just upgraded to squeezecentre 7.2. I'm not sure if I was using 7.0.1 or 7.1 before (I think you guys should write the version number in server.log on startup, I couldn't find it.) While streaming TripleJ (mms://media3.abc.net.au/triplej), I tried to change the volume by using the volume up/down buttons on the remote control. Occasionally this works, but frequently it freezes the Squeezebox for a few seconds, and then the Squeezebox resets. Around this time the server log prints a message like: [08-08-31 12:39:00.5319] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::PrefSync::_syncUp_error (576) Sync Up failed: No such player: 00:04:20:06:79:50 [08-08-31 12:41:59.9404] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::PrefSync::_syncDown_error (359) Sync Down failed: No such player: 00:04:20:06:79:50, will retry in 25620
QA to investigate.
John: Does the same error happen if you connect your SB3 to Squeezenetwork?
James: I haven't seen this again since the day I reported it. I still see syncUp/syncDown errors in the logs, but I haven't seen the Squeezebox reset anymore this week. If I see this reset-on-change-volume again, I'll reopen this bug and try playing via SqueezeNetwork rather than my own server.
