Ross: any feedback on the instructions and installation process?

Noah's trying to finalize the bracket, parts and instructions...
Comment 10 Ross Levine 2008-08-28 17:48:03 UTC
The instructions for the most part are very clear, but I think there is room for more words. We did the Cabinet mount - from below, and the pictures do make a lot of sense, but a quick description like "tape the template onto the cabinet and use a pencil to mark the pilot holes." might be clearer.

Also I felt there wasn't enough distinction between 'from inside' and 'from below'. If these were larger headers it would be more clear. At a quick glance (what most people do with instructions, if anything at all) I thought the whole page was for Cabinet mount, it's not clear until you look closely that the page is split into two different installations.

Anoop did you have anything to add?
Comment 11 Anoop Mehta 2008-08-28 17:55:15 UTC
My main concern for the instructions were that there werent enought words. The pictures did make things clear but I also feel there is room for words to make the entire process faster.

Could/should we also include wire straps(don't know the right terminilogy) to help hide the power cord better?

Sorry for the typos!

Dean, where did you find this guy??

J.K.!!!! Let us know if you'd like more examples of written explanations. I also agree, on the clamp / wire holder solution, maybe something like this.

I noticed there is no place for the remote, when the boom is mounted under a cabinet.

Also, when I heat up my cold coffee in the micro now, boom drops off the net
