Bugzilla – Bug 9285
Information Browser - Controller
Last modified: 2008-11-24 09:39:25 UTC
Unable to access "RollingStone.com Music News" in the Information Browser on the Contoller. Results in error: "There was an error loading the remote feed for : ( not well-formed (invalid token) at line 194, column 39, byte 10168 at /Users/RB/Library/PreferencePanes/SqueezeCenter.prefPane/Contents/server/CPAN/XML/Parser.pm line 187 )" Error repeats after multiple re-installs of software. ____________ Equipment: Mac G4, System 10.4.11, LinkSys Wireless-G Router WRT54G, SqueezeBox Duet software version 7.1r2722.
There's an invalid character in the feed that information browser displays: http://www.rollingstone.com/rssxml/music_news.xml Browsers seem ok with this, but the mechanism used to decode xml within SqueezeCenter throws it out with this error message. The character is in the middle of the story on "The Decade of the Dude" - lets hope the problem goes away once this story is removed from the rss feed.
Verified this is still an issue with 7.3
This is the same error - which is Squeezecentre's XML parser failing to read this sites XML. The feed fails a validation check: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.rollingstone.com/rssxml/music_news.xml&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0 James - I suggest you raise this with rollingstone.com as this is not the first time they have included invalid xml in their feed. As it is a default feed for SqueezeCenter it is worth following up.
This was an intermittent error. We have no relationship with them.
